On Friday 5th September, our class performed at the Junior School Assembly. We taught our audience how to say different things in Te Reo Maori and we sung a few songs too. We had practiced all week and were all really excited to perform. Everyone did a brilliant job and Miss Hooper was very proud. Thank you to all the parents that came along to watch us, we really appreciated it!
St Thomas Superstars!
Check out the amazing learning we have been doing!
Talent Quest
In the last week of school Miss Hooper and Mrs Allen thought it would be a great idea to have a Talent Quest. We got to choose to perform as a group or by ourselves. A few children did a solo act. We had rappers, dancers, gymnasts, mimes, comedians and artists. We had so much fun practising and it was really neat seeing everybody's hidden talents!
Room 23A Daffodils
In the last week of school, we were lucky enough to plant our very own daffodils which will be growing in our classroom next term. Mrs Bryant visited us and helped us plant them. We hope they start growing soon!
Trip to the Museum
On Wednesday, June 11th we got to go to the Auckland Museum to learn more about Minibeasts. We had a wonderful time exploring the museum and enjoying the classroom session where we got to become 'Entomologists'. We had to identify different kinds of bugs. It was lots of fun!
A Visit from the Bee Lady
On Tuesday we had a visit from the Bee Lady. We had SO much fun and learnt LOTS about bees. We even got to make a candle made from real beeswax. Check out the photos!
Mufti Day
Last Friday we had a school Mufti Day. We had to bring a gold coin donation and we got to wear our house colours. Don't we look awesome!
A Message from Mr Maher!
On Monday, Mr Maher emailed Miss Hooper with a special message for all of the Year 3 children asking us for new ideas to help improve the environment during winter. He told us that if we can persuade him that its a good idea then he might be able to make it happen. Check out his video message below....
What is a Nogard?
Today Miss Hooper read out this description of a 'Nogard'
A Nogard is an animal. It has an oval shaped body. It has a long neck and tail. The top of the neck, back and tail and covered with a row of triangular-shaped plates. The Nogard's head is shaped like a long triangle. It has big eyes and eyebrows that stick out. It also has big nostrils. Its body is covered with scales. The Nogard has four short legs. At the end of each leg is a foot with five toes. Each toe has a sharp claw at the end. The Nogard has two wings attached to its body. These are located behind the front legs towards the top if its back. Nogard's are usually green but change to a deep purple during the winter months.
We had to visualise what it looked like and draw it in our books. Check them out!
